About Tujenge Jamii Project
The Tujenge Jamii project is a five-year USAID funded service delivery project, providing HIV care and treatment, as well as services in the area of family planning/reproductive, maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health (FP/RMNCAH), nutrition, and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH). The project is focused on increasing the use of county-led health and social services in four counties in Kenya, namely Baringo, Laikipia, Samburu and Nakuru.
Program Objectives:
Increased access and demand for quality HIV prevention services.
Increased access and demand for quality HIV treatment services.
Increased access and demand for quality FP/RMNCAH, nutrition, and WASH services.
Strengthened capacity of county health systems, local partners, and communities to deliver quality health services.
Main purpose of the job
The incumbent will provide support to the Monitoring & Evaluation Team while ensuring timely delivery of work in the allocated area. The role will be based in Nakuru.
Job Description
Support the implementation of the Monitoring & Evaluation team objectives jointly with the team.
Coordinate data collection and reporting of HIV care and Treatment/RMNCH program data and ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness within assigned sub counties.
Coordinate the Monitoring & Evaluation activities at county, sub county and facility levels.
Proper documentation of HIV service registers, provision of mentorship and ensure consistent availability of Ministry of Health and Program tools at facility level.
Capacity build on how to plan Monitoring & Evaluation team activities jointly with other players such as Monitoring & Evaluation Associates and Ministry of Health teams.
Conduct regular HIV data quality improvement activities, data collection and reporting.
Work closely through a Multi - Disciplinary Team (MDT) approach that will involve the project’s data management unit team and regional M&E staff; and
Organize and conduct joint routine Ministry of Health – Tujenge Jamii support supervisory visits.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Public Health, Statistics, Health Records and information Systems, Information Technology, Demography or a related field from a recognized university.
Computer proficiency in word processing, databases, spreadsheets, PowerPoint including advanced skills in at least two of the following programs: SPSS, Excel, Stata, and Ms Access.
A high degree of self-motivation, positive attitude, drive, and the ability to contribute to a multi-cultural, team-based work environment.
Minimum KCSE overall grade of B+, with a B+ in Mathematics and English; or
Minimum GCSE overall grade of A, with an A and in Math and English.
